okay i’m just gonna say it. i’m sick of seeing young people acting like confronting celebrities about injustice in palestine is going to change anything. if you live in the west and you’re feeling powerless, here are some real steps you can take towards ending israeli occupation.

learn about zionism

if you’re a student in the US, join students for justice in palestine (SJP)

they’re an intersectional, anti-racist activist network providing support and education to students across the country. here are their goals:

  1. ending israel’s occupation and colonization of all arab lands and dismantling the wall;
  2. recognizing the fundamental rights of the arab-palestinian citizens of israel to full equality; and
  3. respecting, protecting and promoting the rights of palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties as stipulated in UN resolution 194.

hit the streets

attend a demonstration to to meet like-minded activists and to show your community that you denounce israel’s human rights violations. find upcoming protests here and here.

boycott, divest, sanction (BDS)

pointing out israeli apartheid is crucial to pressuring israel to end its occupation of arab lands. the BDS movement aims to isolate and condemn israeli colonization and to hold the state of israel accountable.

injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. listen to palestinian activists. educate yourself. do not lose hope.
